Steps from the hotel you will find Casa de Exploradores, where you can enjoy the same services and exclusivity of the Futangue Hotel & Spa in a more private way. Both properties share the facilities of the spa and restaurant “El Mesón del Caulle”. The spa has 450 m2 surrounded by mountains and picturesque rural landscapes, as well as a construction that highlights the warmth of native wood and volcanic rocks.

How to get there
A flight from Santiago to Osorno airport takes only an hour and a half, the same thing it takes to get from there to the nature reserve. It’s a pleasant trip along excellent paved roads from any of the nearest airports to the park. It is also possible to fly to the city of Puerto Montt or Valdivia and then take a transfer to the park.
More than 30 days before arrival: No charge.
29 to 15 days before arrival: 50% of the total reservation.
14-0 days before arrival: 100% of the total reservation.
The following are actions carried out by the hotel with the aim of minimizing its impact on the environment and contributing to the development of the place where it is located:
Recycling and waste management: It has a recycling space for paper, plastic and glass. Organic waste is converted into compost. Supply of products that generate little rubbish.
Water consumption reduction: The re-use of towels by passengers is promoted, which is communicated at check-in and with signs in the bathrooms of the rooms.
Energy efficiency: Futangue’s electricity is generated through a mini hydroelectric plant, which also brings clean, renewable energy to the local community. All the light bulbs are energy efficient and have a policy of minimizing the lighting as much as possible.
Other environmental initiatives: The consumption of unbottled water is promoted. Organic amenities are filled in and purchased from a B Corp in the region. The packaging of the amenities is biodegradable. The hotel has hydroponic greenhouses for domestic consumption and for sale to visitors and neighbors. The park has been reforesting livestock meadows with native species for more than 20 years, which now add up to more than 60 hectares.
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY
Projects it supports: Schools, kinder gardens, public institutions and foundations in the area have free entrance to the park in low season for the development of environmental education activities and instructional talks on flora, fauna and sustainability by the hotel team. Every year there is an ecological walk to clean the beach of Riñinahue, with the neighbors of the commune. Universities are received free of charge for the development of research and thesis projects of students.
Promotion of local heritage and culture: Develop of new experiences together with the local community to value Mapuche culture and make it known to guests. The guides offer different talks on Mapuche culture, volcanoes and animals endemic to the Valdiviana Forest.
Local suppliers: Support to the local economy through various actions: Shop at the entrance of the park that serves as a point of sale for artisans and small producers in the area; contracted excursion services to local suppliers, such as horse rentals, boatmen or professional guide services; much of the hotel’s décor was created by local artisans; various products of the restaurant, such as jams, vegetables, vinegars and spirits, are from local producers.
Recruitment and staffing: 50% of the staff is from the area, a figure that is expected to increase in the long term.
Other community support practices: Through the chamber of tourism, associativity is strengthened with small entrepreneurs of the field, who are contracted for different services on a recurring basis. Participates in the corporation Así Conserva Chile, which brings together different areas of private conservation of the country, in addition to signing agreements with the Universidad Austral, for the development of academic activities of teachers and students within the park.
