RECYCLING AND RESIDUE MANAGEMENT: We recycle glass, cans, plastic and Carton those who are delivered to the Orito recycling plant ready for dispatch to the mainland.
WATER CONSUMPTION REDUCTION: The Hotel has a sewage treatment plant which after a process with oxygenation of bacteria and mud compacts we managed to reuse the entire water for irrigation of its 8 hectares of gardens.
OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES: The hotel has its own electricity generation so as not to overcharge the demand of the island. Provision of water drums for guests and delivery of aluminum bottles to avoid overuse of plastic bottles and composting of organic waste.
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY
PROJECT THAT SUPPORTS: The hotel participates in the program of the municipality of Rapanui related to sustainable companies being leaders of the program and support frequent coastal cleanups among other specific actions throughout the municipality.
PROMOTION OF PATRIMONY AND CULTURE: tours with guides only from the local community and develop different cultural actions with adults and children to promote the identity of the local culture, such as: cultural dances, ancestral curanths, live music with children artists, body painting classes, ancestral cooking class, among others
LOCAL SUPPLIERS: Fish, fruit and vegetable suppliers, turimso terrestrial operators, cultural and artistic shows, local hardware stores, among others
CONTRACTING AND PERSONAL: The 10 of staff members are from the local community using medium-terms charges reaching rea coordination. Within the staff a 2 people in disability situation developing a better inclusiveness in the industry.
